Constitution of ANBD

"Asian Network of Bipolar Disorder" (ANBD), a non-profit making professional organization, legally registered in Hong Kong.

The Society shall be open to membership for distinguished psychiatric & allied mental health professionals in Asia who have an interest in treatment, research and education in all aspects of bipolar disorders.

Mission Statement: The Society aims to become the recognized forum to foster ongoing local and international collaboration on education and research with the intent to advance the treatment of all aspects of bipolar disorders and to improve outcomes and quality of life for those with bipolar disorder and their carers or family members.

The objectives of the Society include:

A. The creation of an information network among mental health professionals interested in bipolar disorders.

B. The provision of role models and collaboration in the field of bipolar disorders.

C. The promotion of awareness of this condition in society at large.

D. The promotion of awareness and education about this condition among medical and mental health care professionals, and the lay community.

E. The fostering of research in all aspects of bipolar disorders.

F. The promotion and support of international, regional and local conferences that provide scientific and educational programs.

G. The publication of relevant materials.

H. The support of consumer and carer awareness initiatives of bipolar disorders and collaboration with established organisations.

I. The fostering of the development and maintenance of affiliated
societies.

J. The provision of a multidisciplinary forum for the presentation and discussion of matters related to bipolar disorders.

K. Supporting  consideration for psychiatric and mental health perspectives relevant to bipolar disorders within the development of health policy and health services.
